Dog Zones Explained: Partitions, Size, and Access
The colors (blue, green, and red) will indicate the access zone for ● visitors, ● volunteers, and ● staff.
Adoption area ● ●
This area will consist of 13 glass-fronted boxes at 1.95 x 2.35 each.
Capacity: up to 20 dogs
Senior dog center 386 sq m ● ● ●
This area will include 28 indoors spaces at 6 sq m each and 28 outdoor spaces at 5 sq m each.
Capacity: up to 75 dogs
Shelter space for dogs ● ●
This area will include space for 5 zones. Zone 1 will provide 15 boxes at 6 sq m each.
Zone 2 will provide 20 boxes at 6 sq m each. Zone 3 will provide 12 cage-free boxes at 9 sq m and 4 cage-free boxes at 6 sq m. Zone 4 will provide 21 boxes at 6 sq m. Zone 5 will provide 14 boxes at 6 sq m.
Capacity: up to 240 dogs
Observations: Zone 4 and 5 are under consideration to be modified into cage-free zones. PawzUp’s shelter areas will be used to rehabilitate dogs, as well as provide
ongoing care to senior and disabled dogs.
Quarantine area ●
This area will provide 12 cage-free spaces at 10.40 sq m each, 12 outdoor spaces at 12 sq m each, quarantine boxes 12 x 5 sq m, 6 outdoor spaces x 6 sq m, outdoor space x 20 sq m.
Isolation Treatment Area ●
This area will provide 38 boxes at 5 sq m each.
Capacity: up to 38 dogs
Access to other zones will include:
● Grooming areas for dogs
● Indoor exercise areas, including 2 areas for interactions with visitors
● Outdoor adoption areas
● Quarantine zones
● Outdoor park for walking dogs
● ● Socialization areas
● Aqua park for warm weather activities
● Kitchen, laundry, treatment, and storage
